I’m Rochelle Nemrow, and I hate paperwork.

Nearly 10 years ago I found myself consumed with frustration caused by inconvenient, tedious paperwork required to register my kids for all of their school, sports and camp activities.

If my two kids take part in five activities each, why did it feel like I had ten kids?

Registration wasn't a process, it was torture. I was receiving forms by email, downloading and printing PDFs, shuffling through stacks of mail, painstakingly completing lengthy paper forms and panicking to mail them back before deadlines passed and programs filled-up.

As the unofficial CEO of my family, I decided this was unacceptable. I saw a way to take control of my information, my schedule and my time while solving an ongoing administrative problem for schools and program providers.

That was the inspiration for FamilyID.

Starting from a paper-strewn table in my living room to our Lexington, MA office, from a seed of an idea to a thriving registration platform serving millions of families and thousands of schools and community programs nationwide, FamilyID defied the odds.

If you’d asked me on that first fateful day if I could have envisioned this transformation, I would have said “of course!”

Despite the challenges, the 20-hour workdays and the dismal odds for tech start-ups I never doubted that FamilyID would be a success.

What I didn't know was how fulfilling it would be to create this platform, to assemble my own personal dream-team, to feel the love and appreciation from our happy customers -- growing FamilyID from an idea to a thriving company full of unsurpassed talent has truly fed my heart and soul.

And if you’d asked me if I expected that FamilyID's success would attract industry partners who appreciated the value of what we’ve built, I would have said “of course!”  I never doubted FamilyID would be noticed and highly sought-after.

What came as a surprise was an incredible opportunity for FamilyID to join forces with a company that shares our values, our vision, our priorities and has the ability to make FamilyID a more comprehensive solution with an even brighter future.

I am proud and excited to say this incredible opportunity has transformed into a reality and FamilyID is now a part of ArbiterSports. Arbiter is the leading provider of athletic event management solutions. You can read the full press release here.

What does this mean?

For our customers, it means the FamilyID software and customer care you know,  love and expect will continue to get even better.

For our employees, it means more opportunity for growth and advancement.

For me, it means I can join a team of executives that I would have hand-chosen if given the chance.

I am one of the few, lucky people who gets excited on Sunday night to jump into Monday morning. I can't wait to start a new week doing what I love with the company I helped create and the people I consider family.

These two great teams uniting into a single powerhouse means I get to continue to execute on the vision I had nearly 10 years ago, at a table in my living room, surrounded by stacks of paper registration forms.

In short, it means the adventure continues! And I can’t wait to get to work!
